LGBT inclusive orientation of the Mission The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-gendered Ministry is a new venture that is rooted in the clear Christian mandate not only to love God and our neighbour as we love ourselves, but also to practice inclusive compassion for all. We regard "our neighbour" to be all those made in "God's image". God loves us as we are, not as we think we ought to be; nor how others think we ought to be This is because of the undeserving compassion God has for us, shown clearly in the life, teaching, example, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the continuing dynamic of his Spirit in the life of the Church. The Methodist Church, nationally, is clear about human sexuality in all its genetic variety and orientation. Log onto the Methodist Church national website at www.methodist.org.uk to get the Methodist perspective on this issue, then search on the topic of "Human Sexuality" and you will see many pages on this important issue, then select the item on the resolutions passed by the Annual Methodist Conference of 1993, in Derby (The Derby Resolutions).
